I think a huge reason why the check your privilegecheck your privilege question went so poorly was that it was a bad question that should be closed.

Essentially, how do you politely respond to a random stranger that tries to 'check your privilege'.

But this is missing a lot of important information. Is the OP trying to politely disagree? Or is the OP trying to understand what yhethe phrase check your priviligeprivilege means? We can't actually give an answer tailored to the OPs needs without this information. Which is why the question recievedreceived a lot of answers that were about peoples opinion of the phrase, rather than answers that attempt to solve the OPs actual problem. This is why that question created drama.
