The number of comments on a post is denormalized, stored as a simple integer attached to the post itself. This is updated when comments are added or deleted, but the update isn't atomic - that is, the count can become inaccurate if two of those actions happen at very nearly the same time:
deletion #1: retrieve comment count (2 comments)
deletion #2: ...
I am not the greatest at graphic design, but here's an icon concept:
I hereby release this into the public domain. If someone can improve it, please do; here's the SVG: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8205354/Interpersonal%20StackExchange%20Icon.svg
It fills up based on time, not any other metric that I've seen. Betas at 90+ days have full bars. You can see that reflected in the info box text
Sites remain in beta for at least 90 days to build up a critical mass of users, questions, and participation.
We are only at 70 days, as the number in the blue box on the left states.
It seems that you are ...
If you look at this question on Meta.SE, you'll see that yes, it was because it was posted from mobile.
When a question is closed (or put on hold), there's a client side thingamajiggy that disables the post answer button. However, quoting @TimStone on his answer to the above linked question:
For users answering from a mobile device, there's no client-...
There is one. It's right here:
That being said, calling it "meta" and then having the link say "Feedback" is... suboptimal.
It is intentional, based on a few MSE questions:
What do they mean by feedback
Provide link to meta for new users
You have encountered the effects of interface updates without matching instruction updates.
The look and feel has been very recently updated, and the text in various messages, and help pages has not been changed to match yet.
To get to Meta from anywhere else on this site (Interpersonal Skills) there are two easy options. 1: In the top-left corner is the ...
The thing about votes is that you don't necessarily always have 40 votes. To cite for example Daily vote limit reached on 37 votes:
There is a limit of 30 all-purpose votes per day and 10 question-only votes.
The tricky part is that you have to spend your questions-only votes first.
There are special votes that can only be used to upvote questions and ...
Just a guess, but I did a rapid edit immediately after posting which may have effected the time stamp.
Also I posted from mobile, so it may be a mobile issue... You don't get the same close and edit notices when you're writing an answer on a mobile device.
According to this post six recommend deletion votes will only automatically delete a post if it has a score of zero or less. So, if it was at 1 when you submitted your review, it wouldn't be deleted.
Yes, a sufficient number of delete recommendations (currently 6 on most sites, 4 on Stack Overflow) will cause the post to be deleted immediately, provided ...
I notice that you just created your account - probably when you came to ask this meta question.
This isn't a bug, it's status-bydesign.
From the Duplicates FAQ on MSE:
Furthermore, if the question is unanswered, and there is only one target, then anonymous visitors are automatically redirected to the duplicate.
If you're logged in, you get the actual ...
You are correct, this page is misleading. However, this issue is not uniquely relevant to Interpersonal Skills (for example, it was recently raised on another site as well). As is often the case with these types of issues, there is already a discussion about it on the network-wide Meta site with no response from anyone with authority. It would seem that it ...
I did indeed change the question on the tour page earlier, as I said in the post you linked.
Since then, the question and one of its answers were edited.
As a result, it's no longer eligible to be displayed on the tour page, and IPS has no other questions that fit the criteria, so apparently the system has automatically reverted the tour page to the ...
This has its own question on meta.se. But four does equal five!
The upvote you received at 09:16 is still 'unread' (marked in yellow) at the top of the list. If you refresh the page, it should show 3 events. I was able to reproduce it in my reputation tab:
This one shows 'unread' reputation changes in yellow, the 22:34 upvote on 'Convincing superstitious ...
This is not a bug. This is status-bydesign.
The progress bar is not full because this site has not completed 90 days in public beta yet.
In case of graduated sites, the progress bar is full and instead of public beta in the end, there is beta. See this.
I don't really see how this is a different bug than the one that Tinkeringbell linked you to on MSE.
Your top bar missed out on one upvote that you got during the hour or two that the reputation changes weren't being sent to the top bar... so it says +100 instead of +110. I'm guessing it's the upvote at 18:23 that's missing as that coincides with the time ...
