This one weird trick gets rid of all off-topic comments. Let's use it!

June 25: Experiment has ended Ok! It's been about two months since this started, and I've turned off the altered comment text. This should be enough to give us a reasonable idea of what effect was ...

Update: As of... just now (20 May 2019), the site setting for minimum question age should be active and we've added IPS back to the HNQ list with one question at a time. Please keep me updated on ...

Should the "women" tag be changed to something more age-neutral?

This tag actually makes me really uncomfortable. I'd prefer it just didn't exist at all. The very fact that it's only currently used on three questions would make it easy to kill and, to add to that, ...

We get a lot of answers here... should we implement some system changes that will encourage users to review existing answers before adding their own?

1. Raise the autoflag threshold to 15. We have issues on Worldbuilding with questions that get lots of answers. The HNQ effect means that many get 10 or more, and our record is at least 30 or 40, I ...

Would creating an LGBTQ tag make sense?

I think it could be helpful for categorization, yes. This is information that will almost certainly be included in the question if it is relevant, but tags do make it easy to search for types of ...

"Show 1 more comment" shows no comment

The number of comments on a post is denormalized, stored as a simple integer attached to the post itself. This is updated when comments are added or deleted, but the update isn't atomic - that is, the ...

This one weird trick gets rid of all off-topic comments. Let's use it!

Yes Yes Yes. This is a great idea. I know your pain, I have 232 comment flags, 28 alone today and yesterday are waiting for review and 188 helpful in 27 days! This is madness. I feel it's even more ...

Can we remove the communication tag?

As you say, almost everything in interpersonal skills is a form of communication. This is a meta tag. If you're asking a question about a specific form of communication, that tag is preferable (e.g. ...

Should we add a stack-specific close reason for off topic "dear Abby" questions?

This is now live with the close reason as suggested (last box on the answer) Let's take some inspiration by the options users have posted before: I'm voting to close this question as off-topic ...

Should we add a stack-specific close reason for off topic "dear Abby" questions?

I propose the following close reason: Questions seeking advice on what to do instead of how to do it are off-topic. It's just not what this Stack is about. Additionally, they're a bad fit for a ...

Should the "women" tag be changed to something more age-neutral?

I think it's a meta tag and propose we burn it. I don't think it serves a decent distinction purpose either, and the topic of "women" is so hilariously broad that it doesn't even categorize properly....

Should the "women" tag be changed to something more age-neutral?

On top of what Catija said, the tag is essentially a meta tag, as it can't be used on its own. That's why we should kill it with fire altogether, instead of changing it to some more age-neutral tag.
